I read that Asura looks like a cutsie Grench.
I never saw a Grench before as I never did Wintersday stuff.

Few things are more true than a first impression, so I will post my first impression of this, as recorded in my IRC history:
Quote:
That thing looks like a toad took a dump and it congealed and coalesced with a rabbit penis into a STD that infected a baby rabbit, that grew up into a hideous writhing mass of flesh and jagged bones and eyes, screaming for death until a wolf ate it, then a man ate the wolf, and a bizarre reaction occurred that mutated his first born child into THAT
|
So no, I don't like it. At all.
If that really is a playable race in Guild Wars 2, or even a species of NPCs in Eye of the North... well, I wish I had better threats for that sort of thing. The idea of being in a party with someone that actually chose to look like that is a little too much.
I'm hoping it's just some freakish thing that isn't related to Guild Wars at all. If it's actually in the game, I hope it's just as a painting in a dark room hidden in the furthest corner of the earth.

I just read the article and it really stinks of BS.
Just a few minor things. For one the expansion needing another GW expansion to play, when Anet has said in the past that all new releases would be stand alone. Also saying there are going to be a heap of new skills only some of which will be available to PVP gamers. This has never happened before and wouldn't really make much sense. It might be true but it has a general air of falseness to me.

I like the giant turtles in Cavalon, Arcane.
Sometimes I stand in front of them and let their deep depressing sighs caress my back.
You'd sigh too if people built houses on you.

See, that's what you get for not reading. Now go back to the first page and look for pictures.

Rahja, some of us were talking about that.
If any of it's true that GW2 is hundreds of years later, the Charr might be getting along with people.
A quest in Nightfall eluded to how Charr feel tricked into attacking the land of men.

I hope they let us be dwarves. Then I can move to the Shiverpeaks and get a job killing Prince Rurik over and over and over and over.
Edit:
When GW2 comes out I guess this site will be out of business. JK Guru.

Guild Wars is the most beautiful, well-conceived game currently out. I love it. I love playing it. When I come home from work (yes, I'm an adult), Guild Wars is my Zen time. No dwarves, elves, orcs, or other adolescent fantasy mumbo gumbo; just stunning graphics, cohesive content, and well-crafted story line.
I beg Anet not to ruin it by going mainstream on us and introducing characters (even if they are just mini-pets) that really belong more on a Saturday morning cartoon with a sideways baseball cap rappin' the ABC's.
I play this game with my wife and friends. Not Cartman, Stan, and Kyle. So, Your Highness, if I want to take this seriously allow me that and leave me alone.

You're an adult? Then act like one. As I said before, you people are overreacting. Nothing has been confirmed that the Asurans are even a playable race. Besides, your opinion on what fantasy is still doesnt make a lick of difference, you're still overreacting period.

Q:why ?
A: becasue Anet was never intending to make them playable.
Q:but Inquirer said there are 4 playable races..right ?
A:yes and we were calling this articale as BS until we got some info from Gaile that some of this article is true, and for more confirmation they introduce minipet with one of the races were being in the article.
unofficial news of playable race + minipet of this race on GW site = rumors coming true.

Wow, seems like the immature kids are coming out of the woodwork with the name calling and all. What exactly was your point anyway? That there are different races? I was saying that you were overreacting over a piece of speculation that's not even confirmed. That was my point. You yourself just admitted that the article is "BS", so why are you freaking out? Now calm down.

It has eyes and ears of a creature of prey.
It's not meant to be cartoony. It evolved from an animal that's been hunted by predators. That's all it is.

This thread is really cracking me up.
The funniest part of all the kiddies complaining about playable races is that it won't matter how the game is designed. When your parents are deciding what videogame you'll get for your birthdays, which one will they choose? Surprise, Surprise, Surprise. They will choose the game with no monthly fee.
So lets stop this silly bickering, and rejoice for something new.

Would you be able to let me know how much I'd be paying extra? Just an estimate would do... basically, it will determine whether I go to order a magazine from America, or whether I'll just beg someone who doesn't play GW for the code.
Hopefully Anet will decide to get a code to us Australians though. It is a bit inconvenient to have to have a simple magazine shipped from the US if we want a mini pet without buying it in game (I also enjoy doing the quests to gain them, like the grey giant, so buying one in game isn't really something I want to do)
